new wheels and problem axle

I just could not resist buying these new wheels my car really needs this for more traction :)

A nice barely used KESKIN |KT1 wheels in 17x10 and 17x8.5 with TOYO RA-1 racing tires on with less then 500km sizes 255/40/17 rears and 235/40/17 fronts.
also bought the IE flares to go with them (this is a pic of MATracer's car with the same flares and the wheels) I'm going to blend them in the body when I redo the paint to a Rat rot satin black in version 2.0 of my twincharger.

here they are installed on my car checking fitment lol...If this cant put 500HP to the floor then I dont know what will...

and the Vert now gets proper choose's too with my now ex 16x9 and 16x8 ESM wheels.

I removed the old axle (check the carnage) and I was going to install my brand new one and now I am not sure if I should....
Can somebody tell me why and how this new one comes with grease and no braces.. (but comes with new bolts..etc...) ????

Wasted spark is done and is working really well. I took the beast for a short drive and it no longer blows spark at 17PSI. I noticed the car is really smooth to drive and the power is even more instant and seems I gained more torque car is a torque monster. I almost made it to the track today but I ran out of tuning time...Its half way tuned right now. Still needs a lot more time to build a good smooth VE table and back to the dyno for more spark and more boost!!

So took a couple of pics and my 4 year old took a pic of me so you can see who I am :) more power coming real soon. I'm aiming for 1st of september for Drag racing..of course some videos.

Well my parts car is gone now after removing all the parts I needed from it...thanks goes out there to my father in law Robert for the help. He's a car guy himself hes got a 2007 bmw 335i and he will be helping me to tear down the spare B27 and the new M30 engine for the vert.

Meanwhile I finished soldering my MSII computer for the twincharded beast wasted spark setup. I did a diagram of the writing sequence and sent it to Keith "Wodwho" so he could validate it. The coil pack is from DIYautotune (IGN-6 COIL)

Few more things and I should be rocking 20PSI soon... what brand of custom HEI wires would you go with? MSD?ACCEL?etc..

Monday, July 29, 2013

So I made an order with DIYautotune today to upgrade my ignition to Wastedspark under the guidance of the MS master himself Keith "Whodwho" :) thanks again buddy for always being there for me.

total for everything came in at 111$before shipping and teaxes not bad at all.... I should of done this from the beginning. They sell a powerful coil pack all built so why not... its not flashy but nobody cares as long as it performs :)

Stay tuned... once this is installed I will be going beyong 15PSI to 20PSI and then its meth/water injection time. Found a racetrack where I can go do some lapping on wednesdays for 100$ for 2 hours...should have some real good footages there ;) lol..

oh and meanwhile I am keeping myself busy.... just removed the B27 from parts car... need to finish this partout so I can clean the garage and make room for my next big project 1990 Vert with a M30B35..

first action vid

First action vid... A little explanation on the setup 10PSI from the SC and 8 PSI from the Turbo (compressed together makes over 23PSI) but I limited the boost to 17PSI with the use of a BLV (boost limiting valve) but in this video it was 38degree celcius outside and 80% humidity so boost was only 14-15PSI. Full boost kicks in at 2000rpm and makes full 441 torque at 3500rpm

start of new project

Well with my Twincharged E30 all done and running very strong. It was time I started parting out the parts car to then start my next project the 1990 convertible with a M30B34 engine and convert it at the same time to manual. Here are a few shots of the day. special thanks to my father in law that made the trip down to give me a hand and push the parts car in the garage.

Few shots of the day , sorry for the dirty car pics...didn't have time to wash my car..:(

charging the almost dead battery I will need a new one soon.

Project 1 and project 2 side by side..

ready for the part out....I should have it all parted out by end of the month.

a LOT more to come...

and the RESULTS of 17.5PSI I must say I am happy with the results just wish I could use the other 8PSI that are on the table.

431 HP and 441 Torque (by GTECH PRO)

Thursday, June 6, 2013

Long time no update... last time I took it for a drive it was absolutely ridiculous amount of torque available instantly actually 0-18PSI in less then 0.89 second below 3000rpm with a little more then 1/4 pedal travel I almost bent my passenger rear wheel hiting the sidewalk...It was a lot of fun... but I let go the pedal instantly as I fear boost is more like 23PSI+ total and that is too much boost for my stockish motor at this point. I had miscalculated the amount of total boost multiplied compressed boost looks like this

On my twincharged setup I have 8PSI from turbo and 10 PSI from my Roots supercharger giving me total of over 23PSI..

So I had to find a solution I research the web on how I could limit the amount of boost (at this point I already tried a bigger pulley spinning the Supercharger slower but still too much boost) Plus I enjoyed the quick torque of the charger with more boost. So I found a BLV (boost limiter valve) made my 928 motorsport its a beautiful quality valve made easy to adjust from 0-30PSI. I adjusted mine to 17 PSI.

So I welded the Bung that came with it and used JBweld high temp on top of my welding to make sure to block any pin holes.

Car is now COMPLETED :) all I am missing is tuning a little more part throttle and WOT on the street and its Dyno time for spark tuning, numbers and drag racing time oh and videos of course...lol...

Here it is twincharged M20 fully completed.

M30 sitting patiently for my soon to be next project...in 2 months as soon as I finish parting out my parts car.
Interior pic all business...

front shot.....needs a clean and polish! but it will have to wait until tuning is finished.

Stay tuned ....

Few more things done.

DEKA 60# injectors are now installed along with a good starter tune from "Kamotors" the car started right up but was very lean so I will have to tune tune it from scratch basically my engine has a lot more airflow because of the supercharger. I got the car to idle at around 13.9-14.5AFR at 1350RPM so far.

I also finished the day with my ARP headbolt studs to 60# torque...tomorrow I will bring the engine to temp and let her cool down a bit and  retorque final to 65-70# torque.

Getting very excited to start driving her... road insurance starts on may 1st :)

The birth of the First twincharged BMW M20

Without further ado.... I present to you the birth of the First twincharged BMW M20

Here are a couple of pics (Its prototype mode right now :) engine bay will be cleaned up and all the pipes will be removed sanded and painted.

Wiring needs to be tucked away...
Is valence needs to be installed...

here is a quick startup video...overall am very happy all seems well... except for 2 issues.

http://youtu.be/s6Db_V399Vo

1. the turbo is smoking a bit..either its the oil residu from factory since its brand new burning off which I think it is as no blue smoke is coming out of the exhaust and oil consumption is normal.

2. couple of oil drips on the floor coming from oil sandwich adapter , will check it tomorrow.

In the video it sounds very loud as its in a small garage but the exhaust sounds amazing wow I was really impressed.

there you have it ...I promised a Twincharged E30 and I delived :)

Next is 60# injectors and ARP studs.

Stay tuned I will do a video explaining the whole setup and some exhaust clips outside too...

Sunday, March 17, 2013

I have seen quite a few video's of E30 made by fanatics and this one I have to admit is really amazing!

don't know if this person is in the R3V forum or not but Kudos to you.

Ok time to go finish my build...

..and a little closer we get....

Turbo output pipe is done you can see how tight things are but I still manage to keep the EPS :)

You can the pipe that crosses over to the other end its very solid and vibration free and not lower the the cooler.

On the other side the turbo output pipe will go threw the throttle body that then leads to the input of the Supercharger...then out the supercharger--> in the front intercooler and out to the engine. Supercharger is now installed with a proper coupler and t-bolt to handle boost in the input (before it only saw vaccum)

I took a break and installed half the exhaust which fits very very nicely for a 3" exhaust. Loving the CXRACING stuff so far everything fits very well. Am getting really close to the first startup....stay tuned!

Sunday, March 10, 2013

Turbo side is done....finished the oil return. This will spark controversy but I read about it and a lot have done it successfully. I made my own half barbed / oil pan bolt...forgot to take a pic of it. Its very secure, very tight. The 3/4 inch is like 2+ feet long and the only way this work is on top mount turbo setups with long oil returns...I will be testing it before it leaves the garage..

Pic from front of turbo....

Still waiting to receive the last 90 degree coupler and T-bolts to finish everything. So last things to do before first start.

1)Finish turbo output piping to Supercharger
2) Reinstall supercharger and finish inlet for boost
3) Throttle body fittings for AIC and Brake booster need to make them solid so they dont pop out with boost
4) install exhaust

** prime turbo with oil...then do startup and check for oil leaks..

last but not least

1) ARP head studs
2) 60# injectors
3) tune, Dyno and have fun

Downpipe installed, wideband O2 and oil line
 view from above
you can see the oil line here
another shot of the downpipe...which fit very nicely
removed the charger I want to redo the Input side to take boost
quick shot of the turbo pipe going to Supercharger It will be nicely installed with rubber/metal hangers against and behind intercooler
shot of the charger still in good shape... more to come...
